Senior Barista – Job DescriptionPosition Overview A Senior Barista is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of coffee preparation, customer service, and café operations. This role involves leading the barista team, ensuring consistent beverage quality, managing workflow during service, and helping train junior staff in specialty coffee knowledge and skills. Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Preparation & Quality Control • Prepare espresso, filter coffee, and specialty beverages with precision and consistency. • Maintain high standards in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and latte art. • Dial in espresso and adjust grind settings throughout the day. • Monitor brew recipes and extraction parameters for all brewing methods. • Conduct daily coffee tastings and quality checks. Customer Experience • Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming café atmosphere. • Recommend coffees, brewing methods, and food pairings to customers. • Handle customer feedback and resolve service issues professionally. Team Leadership • Supervise and guide junior baristas during shifts. • Train new staff in espresso preparation, brewing methods, and café workflow. • Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and professionalism behind the bar. Operations & Workflow • Manage smooth bar operations during peak hours. • Ensure correct use and maintenance of coffee equipment (espresso machine, grinder, brewers). • Monitor stock levels of coffee, milk, and bar supplies. • Maintain hygiene and safety standards in the bar area. Coffee Knowledge & Development • Maintain deep knowledge of coffee origins, processing methods, roasting profiles, and flavor notes. • Educate customers and staff about specialty coffee. • Participate in cupping sessions and menu development. Required Skills • Strong espresso and latte art skills • Knowledge of manual brewing methods (V60, French press, Aeropress, etc.) • Understanding of coffee roasting basics and flavor profiles • Ability to train and mentor junior baristas • Excellent communication and customer service skills Experience Requirements • 2–4 years experience working in a specialty coffee café • Experience with commercial espresso machines and grinders • Prior experience in barista training or shift leadership preferred Personal Qualities • Passion for specialty coffee • Attention to detail • Calm and efficient under pressure • Team-oriented attitude • Willingness to learn and innovate Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month Benefits: • Food provided • Paid time off Work Location: In person
