Senior AI Application Modernization Engineer

Job Title: Senior AI-Driven Application Modernization Engineer Location: Hyderabad Onsite Experience: 4+ Employment Type: Full-time Role Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Professional with strong expertise in application migration and modernization, leveraging advanced AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and other generative AI–assisted development platforms. This role requires a hands-on technologist who can modernize legacy systems, accelerate refactoring through AI-assisted development, and define best practices for AI-enabled software engineering within the organization. Key Responsibilities • Lead end-to-end modernization of legacy applications (monolith to microservices, on-prem to cloud, etc.) • Leverage AI-powered development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to: • Automate code refactoring and migration • Improve documentation and test generation • Enhance developer productivity • Analyze legacy architectures and design modernization roadmaps • Re-architect applications using modern frameworks and cloud-native principles • Implement DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing best practices • Ensure code quality, security, scalability, and performance optimization • Establish AI usage guidelines and governance for engineering teams • Mentor engineering teams on AI-assisted development methodologies • Collaborate with enterprise architects, product teams, and cloud engineers Required Qualifications • 8+ years of software engineering experience • Proven experience in legacy application modernization and migration projects • Strong hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as: • Claude Code • GitHub Copilot • Other LLM-based development tools • Strong proficiency in one or more languages: • .NET / Python / C++ • Experience with: • Microservices architecture • RESTful APIs • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) • Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) • Strong understanding of design patterns and system architecture • Experience with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines • Ability to evaluate and optimize AI-generated code Preferred Qualifications • Experience migrating large-scale enterprise applications • Exposure to AI prompt engineering for software development • Experience building AI governance frameworks • Knowledge of security and compliance standards • Prior consulting or transformation program experience Key Competencies • Strong architectural thinking • Deep technical hands-on capability • Innovation-driven mindset • Excellent problem-solving skills • Ability to balance AI automation with engineering judgment • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills What We Offer • Opportunity to lead AI-driven engineering transformation • Work on large-scale modernization initiatives • Collaborative and innovation-focused environment • Competitive compensation and benefits
