Australia Accountant

About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant with strong expertise in Australian taxation and financial compliance. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of hands-on experience in BAS, IAS, Payroll, FBT, ITR, and annual tax reporting. This role involves managing end-to-end tax obligations, preparing end of the year financial reports, and supporting strategic decision-making with reliable financial insights. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, ITR and all statutory compliance reports within deadlines. • Oversee payroll processing, superannuation and employer obligations as per Fair Work and ATO guidelines. • Manage FBT preparation, reconciliation, and annual reporting. • Lead annual tax compliance including tax planning and audit support. • Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and financial reporting. • Analyse variances and identify cost-saving opportunities. • Ensure full compliance with federal and state taxation laws. • Support budgeting and forecasting activities. • Advise leadership/clients on tax updates, compliance and financial performance. • Improve internal controls and accounting processes. Required Skills & Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Minimum 2 years of Australian accounting and taxation experience. • Strong knowledge of BAS, IAS, Payroll, FBT, ITR and Annual Tax Compliance. • Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar accounting systems. • Strong understanding of Australian tax laws and accounting standards. • High accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
