Head of English Department

Company Description We are seeking a visionary and experienced academic leader to head our English Department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of English language and literature education across the ICSE (Grades 9 & 10) and ISC (Grades 11 & 12) levels, ensuring alignment with the CISCE curriculum. Role Description * Curriculum Leadership: Oversee the planning and delivery of the ICSE and ISC English syllabi, ensuring a deep focus on both Language and Literature. * Faculty Mentorship: Lead and support a team of English educators, conducting regular workshops and peer observations to foster professional growth. * Board Compliance: Ensure all internal assessments, oral and listening assignments, and project work strictly adhere to the latest CISCE guidelines and marking schemes. * Academic Excellence: Analyze student performance trends and implement remedial or enrichment programs to achieve top-tier results in board examinations. * Strategic Planning: Organize literary events, debates, and creative writing seminars to enhance the linguistic profile of the school. Qualifications & Experience * Educational Background: Post-Graduate degree in English Literature (M.A. English) and a B.Ed. (M.Ed. preferred). * Teaching Experience: A minimum of 8–10 years of teaching experience, with at least 5 years specifically in ISC (Grade 12). * Leadership Experience: Prior experience as a Coordinator or Head of Department in a reputed ICSE/ISC school is highly desirable. * Subject Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Shakespearean plays, classic/modern poetry, and the nuances of English Language papers as per Council standards. Qualifications * Exceptional command of written and spoken English. * Strong administrative and organizational capabilities. * Tech-savvy with the ability to integrate digital tools into the English classroom. * Updated knowledge of the latest CISCE circulars and assessment reforms.
