Role Overview: You will be joining BizTech at Airbnb, a team dedicated to fostering culture and connection by providing reliable corporate tools, innovative products, and technical support for all teams. As the OpsEng Manager for APAC, you will lead a high-performing regional team to achieve operational reliability, scale AI-enabled operations, and ensure BizTech teams can focus on their core engineering work with confidence. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and develop a high-performing team of Operations Engineers, setting goals, coaching, running on-call, and planning capacity for 24x7 coverage aligned with global partners. - Own operational execution, oversee ticket queues and SLAs, drive continuous improvement in MTTA/MTTR, ensure disciplined triage, troubleshooting, and resolution for incidents and requests. - Elevate observability by maturing monitoring/logging, ensuring alerts are meaningful and actionable, and operationalizing runbooks and standards. - Lead incident management in the region, uphold incident commanding quality, participate in postmortems, and coordinate handoffs. - Drive Shift Left and operational readiness by standardizing onboarding of new/changed services, building training, documentation, and governance, and measuring offload impact and service quality improvements. - Scale with automation and AIOps by partnering on initiatives to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and enable assistance in operations tasks and incident response. - Partner and communicate with BizTech stakeholders and fellow Ops leaders, representing the APAC region in planning, status, and reliability forums, providing insights and recommendations grounded in data. - Collaborate on metrics, reporting, and governance, defining and tracking operational KPIs/OKRs, maintaining dashboards and cadences that drive accountability and improvement. - Manage budgets and vendors supporting operations initiatives, ensuring ROI, capability alignment, and economies of scale. Qualification Required: - 10+ years of experience in IT Operations engineering and support management. - Proven expertise in navigating complex corporate production environments, including observability, infrastructure, applications, SaaS, cloud technologies, and AIOps. - Good development background and code literacy for designing and engineering effective solutions. - Experience in managing and developing multi-location teams, fostering growth and collaboration. - Demonstrated financial acumen with the ability to establish and oversee budgets. - Exceptional project management, communications, and interpersonal skills. - Well-versed in ticket management systems. - Hands-on management experience with automation, infrastructure as code, configuration management, and continuous delivery processes. - Thrives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. - Willingness to travel as required.
