Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist (Coatings Industry)

Job Description: As a Category Sourcing Manager - Pigments/Colorants and Minerals at AkzoNobel, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the Global/SESA category sourcing. Your role will involve defining and deploying strategies for managing global/regional spend, collaborating with key internal stakeholders, and owning strategic supplier management with regional and global vendors. Your efforts will be aligned with AkzoNobel's corporate goals on sustainability. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and deploy global and regional sourcing strategies for the category and sub-categories. - Lead and manage strategic supplier management regionally and globally. - Strategically influence internal stakeholders and business teams on a global and regional scale. - Exhibit leadership behaviors to both the category team and suppliers. - Lead and deliver regional and global projects specific to the category. - Implement strategic cost management through e-tenders, negotiation, and contract management. - Ensure year-on-year value creation in alignment with company and functional goals. - Collaborate with the Technical Category Lead to develop a technical roadmap and critical projects. - Build and sustain a vendor base encompassing current and prospective vendors. - Contribute to AkzoNobel's Science-Based Target initiative and develop alternate raw materials with the Business Unit Technical Lead. - Demonstrate high levels of global collaboration and cooperation. Qualifications Required: - Graduate in Science/Business Economics. - Masters in Business Administration or Supply Chain preferred. - Minimum of 5 years experience in a strategic sourcing role with similar complexity and geography. - Excellent communication skills in English. - Proven experience in global or regional sourcing roles, change management, and leading strategic projects. - Superior influencing skills.
