Description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) professional with at least 4 and max 7 years of experience in the medical devices and diagnostics industry. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, deep industry understanding, and the ability to drive strategic financial insights supporting commercial, supply chain, and operational performance. This role will be a key business partner to leadership, supporting forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling, and decision support.
Role expectations
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Forecasting
• Lead the annual operating plan (AOP), quarterly forecasts, and long‑range financial planning cycles.
• Build detailed financial models incorporating revenue, pricing, margins, OPEX, and capital investments.
• Provide scenario analysis to support strategic decisions (e.g., new product launches, pricing shifts, channel expansion, distributor strategy).
Business Partnering
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations to develop accurate forecasts and performance insights.
• Support commercial teams with profitability analysis, discount strategies, and tender management.
• Partner with supply chain & manufacturing to evaluate product costing, capacity, and inventory optimization.
Performance Management
• Analyze monthly financial performance, variance reports, and KPIs; prepare management dashboards.
• Track and report financial performance vs. plan for revenue, gross margins, SG&A, cash flow, etc.
• Identify and explain business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
Strategic & Operational Support
• Conduct financial feasibility studies for new product introductions (NPI) and market-entry initiatives.
• Support CapEx planning and post‑investment reviews.
• Provide insights for pricing strategies, reimbursement assessments, and market dynamics specific to the medical device environment.
Compliance & Process Governance
• Ensure alignment with corporate financial policies and internal controls.
• Drive continuous improvement in FP&A processes, tools, and automation.
• Work closely with global finance teams for reporting, consolidation, and analytics.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics; MBA/CFA preferred.
• Strong command of FP&A methodologies, financial modelling, and advanced Excel.
• Expertise with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and planning software.
• Deep understanding of medical devices and diagnostics industry:
• tender‑driven business
• distributor/channel economics
• regulatory & pricing frameworks
• product lifecycle economics
• manufacturing & supply chain cost structures
Behavioural Competencies
• Strong business acumen and commercial thinking.
• Excellent communication and storytelling with data.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving ability.
• Proactive ownership and ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting India/SAARC markets; exposure to APAC/global FP&A is a plus.
• Prior involvement in product pricing strategy for medical devices.
• Experience with government tenders, private hospital procurement, and channel partners.
• Understanding of quality, regulatory, and compliance requirements in healthcare.
