Business Intelligence (BI) Platform Engineer

As a BI Platform Engineer at Alphastream.ai, you will play a crucial role in building and scaling the Business Intelligence layer to empower clients to explore, analyze, and visualize data through interactive dashboards and analytics tools. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing, developing, and deploying interactive BI dashboards and tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, QuickSight, or similar for client-facing use. - Building self-service BI platforms that enable clients to independently explore and analyze datasets. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Backend, Data Engineering, Frontend) to ensure strong engineering support. - Integrating dashboards and analytics modules into the existing client-facing GUI, focusing on performance, usability, access control, and multi-tenant security. - Retrieving and consuming data from PostgreSQL or other relational databases in collaboration with Data Engineers to define datasets and transformations for analytical use cases. - Ensuring data governance, secure access, and consistency in BI deployments. - Working with UX and frontend teams to provide a seamless client experience within the platform. To excel in this role, you should have: - Proven experience with at least one major BI platform (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, QuickSight, or equivalent). - Ability to write basic to intermediate SQL for data querying and exploration, with complex SQL tasks handled by Data Engineers. - Proficiency in embedding and publishing BI dashboards within web applications. - Understanding of authentication, access control, and multi-tenant security in BI solutions. - General knowledge of data integration concepts like ETL/ELT. - Experience in deploying scalable BI solutions in production environments. - Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, product managers, and client-facing teams. Preferred qualifications include: - Knowledge of Dimensional Modelling (Star/Snowflake schemas). - Familiarity with data pipeline tools like Airflow, dbt, or similar. - Experience with embedding analytics via APIs or SDKs. - Exposure to SaaS / multi-tenant product environments. - Some familiarity with Python or Node.js for automation and data manipulation.
