DevOps Engineer (SRE + Backend)

Role Overview As a Platform Engineer at Amaha, you will bridge the gap between software development and IT operations. You will maintain the reliability and scalability of the infrastructure while contributing to the core backend logic. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure & Site Reliability (SRE) • Design, build, and maintain Docker images for applications and supporting services. • Optimize Dockerfiles for performance, security, and minimal image size. • Manage container lifecycle, versioning, and image repositories. • Implement centralized logging for applications and infrastructure using tools like ELK / OpenSearch / Loki • Define log retention, indexing, and alerting strategies to support debugging and incident response. • Set up metrics, dashboards, and alerts for system health, performance, and SLA monitoring. • Ensure comprehensive audit logging for critical system actions, access, and configuration changes. • Maintain secure, immutable audit logs to support compliance requirements (ISO, SOC2, GDPR, etc.). • Collaborate with security and compliance teams during audits and incident investigations. • Configure and manage firewalls, security groups, and network policies across cloud and Kubernetes environments. • Implement ingress/egress rules, WAFs, IP whitelisting, and zero-trust networking where applicable. • Backend Development (Ruby on Rails) • Core Development: Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code. • API Engineering: Implement and optimize a robust set of services and APIs to power Amahas web and mobile applications. • Schema Design: Create database schemas that represent and support evolving business processes. • Integration: Ensure seamless integration of user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic. Skills & Qualifications • Backend Expertise: 1-2 years of relevant work experience in Ruby on Rails. • Containerization & Orchestration: Strong production experience with Kubernetes/Docker/GCP/AWS • Security: Deep understanding of data and application security best practices. • Testing: Ability to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests to ensure platform stability.
