Vice President Technology – Asset Management

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President to lead India Asset Management technology team (150+ people) and drive innovation across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess curiosity, drive to make a change with a sense of urgency, competent in current and emerging technologies, coupled with strong leadership skills and strategic thinking capabilities. As Vice President of Technology – Asset Management, you will be responsible for developing and implementing technology strategies that align with our company’s overall business objectives, ensuring that our technological resources areeffectively utilized to achieve maximum efficiency and competitive advantage. Leadership and Strategy: • Member of the Global Asset Management Technology leadership team and India Technology Leadership team. • Leveraging their player coach mindset, build, lead, mentor, and inspire a highly effective and technically proficient geographically distributed team of ~100 technology professionals across application development, data engineering, application operations and technology risk. • Seamlessly integrate the team with Asset Management teams in all other locations. • Use technical and domain expertise to influence and drive technology strategy and delivery. Engineering: • Ensure best practices are followed while delivering a quality product in line with stakeholder expectations to time and cost. • Be a thought leader and agent for change using up-to-date knowledge of industry developments to continuous enhance software development practices. • Pursue relentless automation and optimisation of the software development lifecycle. Governance and Compliance: • Ensure technology standards and processes are adhered to. • Ensure compliance with appropriate controls and regulations across the software development lifecycle (e.g., SOC2, SOX, GDPR). Operational Excellence: • Define and monitor KPIs for software quality and performance. • Optimise software development productivity Talent and Culture: • Attract, develop, and retain top talent; build career growth pathways within the team. • Champion a culture of innovation, learning, agility, and ownership. Qualifications: • 15+ years of experience in technology, with at least 7+ years leading large application engineering teams. • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle including agile delivery and technical product ownership practices. • Knowledge of the asset management business sector. • Proven experience managing large, matrixed, distributed teams (preferably 200+ people). • Experience driving organizational AI transformation, including upskilling teams, embedding AI in SDLC processes, and establishing responsible AI practices. • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills. • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
