Job Title: Expatriate Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Construction Chemicals Location: Abuja, Nigeria Industry: Construction Chemicals (Adhesives & Grout) Job Summary The Expatriate Deputy General Manager (DGM) – Construction Chemicals will provide strategic and operational leadership for the business unit, with full responsibility for driving growth, operational excellence, and profitability. The role requires strong expertise in construction chemicals, particularly adhesives and grout, alongside proven plant and team management capabilities. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Business Leadership • Lead the construction chemicals business unit end-to-end. • Develop and execute annual business plans aligned with company objectives. • Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities within the adhesives and grout category. • Drive revenue growth, market expansion, and profitability targets. Operations Management • Oversee day-to-day plant operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and cost control. • Ensure achievement of operational KPIs (production, quality, cost, delivery, safety). • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across production and supply chain processes. • Uphold company values and ensure strict adherence to HSE standards and regulatory compliance. Team Leadership • Lead and manage a team of 5–7 direct reports. • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams. • Foster a culture of accountability, performance excellence, and continuous learning. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Management, or related field (MBA is an added advantage). • Minimum of 8–12 years’ experience in construction chemicals, specifically adhesives and grout. • Strong exposure to plant/operations management. • Experience in identifying market opportunities and driving business growth. • Strong leadership and people management skills with a record of talent development. • Sound knowledge of HSE practices and compliance standards.
