Role overview You will build and maintain data pipelines and data access layers that power analytics and reporting features. You will work closely with backend engineers to ensure data is reliable, well-modelled, and easy to integrate into services. What you will do • Design data models and curate datasets for analytics/reporting use cases. • Build ingestion/transformation pipelines with validation checks. • Partner with backend on data access APIs and safe query patterns. • Document schemas, metrics definitions, and dataset expectations for engineering and QA. • Support early analytics features (basic formulas/statistics) and report generation outputs. Must-have skills • Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performance backend APIs and services. • Architect database schemas and optimize queries for performance and reliability. • Implement background jobs, schedulers, and event-driven workflows. • Integrate third-party systems and external APIs securely. • Ensure data integrity, validation, and consistency across services. • Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls. • Monitor, debug, and resolve production issues with a strong data-quality focus. • Collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and data teams for seamless delivery and deployment. Nice-to-have • Experience with orchestration tooling (Airflow or similar). • Familiarity with NoSQL (MongoDB) and object storage patterns. • Exposure to text-to-SQL and/or analytics guardrails. Success in the first 60-90 days • Deliver a clean dataset + access pattern that enables an analytics feature end-to-end. • Improve reliability of analytics outputs through validation and documentation.
