Reporting To
Maintenance Manager
Job Purpose
To ensure smooth operation of all restaurant equipment, utilities and facilities by carrying out preventive and breakdown maintenance, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring safety and statutory compliance at the outlet.
Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Attend breakdown calls for kitchen and restaurant equipment such as:
Refrigeration units (chillers, freezers, blast freezers)
HVAC / exhaust systems
Gas line / LPG / PNG related issues
Dishwash, potwash, water heaters, pumps, RO system
Carry out minor electrical, plumbing and civil repair works.
Ensure quick restoration of critical equipment affecting operations.
2. Preventive Maintenance
Execute preventive maintenance as per schedule for:
Kitchen equipment
Electrical panels and DBs
HVAC & exhaust systems
Maintain preventive maintenance checklists and records.
3. Vendor & AMC Coordination
Coordinate with AMC and external service vendors for:
HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, fire systems, RO, pest control, etc.
Support vendor visits, supervise work and ensure quality completion.
Verify job completion before closing tickets.
4. Ticket & Reporting Management
Raise, update and close maintenance tickets in the system.
Share daily status and ageing ticket updates as per reporting requirement.
Provide correct technical inputs for quotations and approvals.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure basic fire & safety systems are functional (fire extinguishers, hose reels, alarms, emergency lights, radium signage, etc.).
Support fire audit and safety inspections.
Ensure safe work practices during repair and maintenance activities.
6. Outlet Support
Coordinate with restaurant managers and kitchen team for maintenance planning.
Attend emergency calls to avoid operational downtime.
Support new store opening, refurbishment and layout changes as required.
Key Skills & Knowledge
Basic knowledge of:
Electrical works
Plumbing
Refrigeration and HVAC
Commercial kitchen equipment
Ability to troubleshoot breakdowns quickly.
Understanding of safety procedures and basic fire systems.
Ability to coordinate with vendors and internal teams.
Experience
2 to 5 years of experience in restaurant / hotel / QSR / retail facility maintenance preferred.
Qualification
ITI / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration or relevant trade (preferred).
Behavioural Requirements
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work under pressure during breakdowns.
Responsible, disciplined and safety-oriented.
Willing to travel between outlets when required
