AI Engineer (Applied AI – Node + Flutter Ecosystem) (New Delhi)

About the Role Black Panda is hiring an AI Engineer to work on a new mobile-first product currently in stealth mode. This is an applied AI role focused on building and integrating intelligent features into a production-grade system built on Flutter (mobile) and Node.js (backend). We are not building foundational models or complex RAG systems at this stage. We are building practical, reliable AI-powered features that work inside real user workflows. What You’ll Work On - Building AI-powered chat or assistive flows - Integrating speech-to-text or transcription services - Implementing tagging / classification logic - Designing lightweight AI evaluation mechanisms - Exposing AI services through Node-based APIs - Working closely with backend engineers to integrate AI features cleanly - Ensuring performance, reliability, and responsible output handling How This Role Fits Technically - AI logic may be implemented using Python where appropriate - AI services will be integrated into a Node.js backend - Mobile interactions will be delivered through Flutter - You will collaborate closely with backend and mobile engineers to define clean contracts between AI and application layers What We’re Looking For - 2–3 years of applied AI / ML engineering experience - Experience building chatbots, assistants, or interactive AI systems - Experience working with transcription or speech-to-text systems - Strong Python fundamentals - Comfort working with Node.js APIs or backend integrations - Understanding of model limitations and production failure modes - Transparent communication and structured thinking Nice to Have - Experience deploying AI microservices - Familiarity with OpenAI or similar APIs - Experience monitoring AI output quality - Experience working inside early-stage product teams What This Role Is Not - Not deep research - Not transformer fine-tuning - Not academic ML - Not purely experimental AI work Who Should NOT Apply If you: - Only build AI demos without production deployment - Treat AI as a black box without testing edge cases - Prefer working independently without collaborating with backend/mobile teams This role will not be a fit.
