Calcutta Foundation, through its flagship program Apni Kutir, aims to support women at every
stage of their journey towards financial independence through three core verticals: skilling &
literacy, individual development, and community building. With 15 centres currently operating
across West Bengal, Rajasthan and Bihar, the Foundation provides skill development training such as tailoring, beauty and wellness, digital literacy, and life skills to young girls and women. Our holistic, 360-degree approach ensures women receive not just skills but also guidance, confidence, and emotional support to build sustainable livelihoods.
Role Summary:
The Partnerships and Communications Manager will lead Calcutta Foundation’s external
engagement and documentation efforts for the Apni Kutir program. The role focuses on building
and managing strategic partnerships, strengthening donor and stakeholder engagement, and
ensuring high-quality documentation of the Foundation’s work and impact. The manager will also oversee communications across digital platforms, reports, and visual materials to effectively
showcase the organisation’s initiatives and stories.
Responsibilities:
1. Documentation & Reporting
? Lead the development of annual and bi-annual reports for individual Apni Kutirs, ensuring
comprehensive documentation of CF’s impact.
? Oversee the creation of monthly progress reports to track organizational milestones.
? Manage the publication of newsletters, keeping stakeholders informed and engaged.
? Prepare compelling Annual Reports, ensuring transparency and engagement with funding
partners.
? Develop and document in-depth case studies to showcase success stories and impact
narratives.
2. Partnerships & Collaborations
? Identify and develop collaborative partnerships for workshops and skill-building initiatives.
? Strengthen existing donor relationships, ensuring continued engagement and support.
? Plan and execute volunteer engagement programs, enhancing community involvement.
? Represent CF at exhibitions, workshops and events to increase visibility and build networks.
3. Media, Communications & Design
? Oversee and maintain the social media strategy, ensuring CF maintains an impactful digital
presence.
? Ensure regular content updates on CF’s website, maintaining relevance and engagement.
? Supervise photography and visual storytelling to capture CF’s impact through compelling
imagery.
? Design and develop IEC materials, banners, reports, and other visual documents as needed.
Required Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in Communications, Development Studies, Public Relations, Journalism, or
a related field.
2. Candidates with degrees in Management, Mass Communication, or Social Sciences with
relevant experience may also be considered.
Experience
1. 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in the development sector, social impact
organizations, or NGOs.
2. Demonstrated experience in partnership development, donor engagement, and
stakeholder coordination.
3. Experience in documentation, report writing, and impact storytelling (annual reports, case
studies, newsletters, etc.).
4. Experience managing digital communications, including social media and website content.
5. Prior experience coordinating events, workshops, or volunteer engagement initiatives is
preferred.
Key Skills
1. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Bengali, and Hindi.
2. Strong report writing and documentation skills.
3. Ability to develop partnerships and maintain relationships with donors and collaborators.
4. Basic design and content development skills for IEC materials, reports, and digital
communication.
5. Strong organizational and project management abilities.
6. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
