Teacher Librarian

Job Title: Librarian Location: Cambridge International School,Gharuan Job Type: Full-Time Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in school library management Educational Qualification (as per CBSE norms): • Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLIS/BLIS) from a recognized university. • B.Ed. preferred (as per CBSE guidelines). • Knowledge of digital library systems and library management software is an advantage. Job Profile / Roles & Responsibilities (CBSE-aligned): • Manage, organize, and maintain the school library, including print and digital resources. • Assist students and teachers in locating resources and reference materials. • Maintain records of library books, journals, and other learning materials. • Encourage reading habits and conduct reading programs, storytelling sessions, and book fairs. • Support teaching staff by providing relevant academic resources. • Implement library policies, including borrowing/returning procedures. • Keep up-to-date with new library resources, digital tools, and CBSE recommended reading lists. • Supervise library assistants and volunteers, if any. • Ensure a safe, organized, and conducive reading environment. Skills Required: • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Familiarity with digital library management systems. • Ability to guide students and staff in research and information retrieval. • Enthusiasm for promoting reading culture among students.
