Librarian School

Job Summary We are looking for a qualified and enthusiastic School Librarian to manage the school library and support teaching and learning across grade levels. The librarian will be responsible for organizing library resources, promoting reading habits, supporting curriculum needs, and creating a welcoming learning environment for students and staff. Roles & Responsibilities • Manage day-to-day operations of the school library. • Organize, catalog, and maintain books, journals, digital resources, and reference materials. • Support students and teachers by recommending appropriate learning and reading materials. • Encourage reading habits and information literacy among students. • Assist students with research, projects, and information sourcing. • Maintain library discipline and ensure proper use of resources. • Plan and conduct library periods, reading programs, and book-related activities. • Coordinate book fairs, reading weeks, and literary events. • Maintain library records, issue/return systems, and inventory. • Use library management software and digital tools effectively. • Collaborate with teachers to align library resources with curriculum requirements. • Stay updated with new books, educational resources, and library practices. Preferred Candidate Profile • Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib or equivalent). • Experience in a school library, preferably an international school. • Familiarity with CBSE / IB / IGCSE / ICSE curriculum is an advantage. • Good knowledge of library management systems and digital resources. • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work well with students of different age groups. • Passion for reading and promoting literacy. • Candidates available for immediate joining will be preferred.
