The Opportunity We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse who has the energy and passion for a new standard of excellence in how cancer patients are treated. Our Day Surgery Unit supports 10 operating theatres, an Interventional Suite and a procedure room that performs a wide range of surgical procedures. Our specialities include thoracic, Head and Neck, ENT, Upper GI, Colorectal, Urology, Gynaecology, Breast and Plastics. The day surgery nurse is essential to the provision of highly skilled care for our patients before and after their operation. Highly developed practical skills, a patient centred approach to care and the ability to work as an effective member of the tea will see you excel in this role. You’re ready to collaborate with surgeons, educators, specialist nurses and your nurse unit manager to drive excellent patient outcomes and contribute to the growth of this important service. Essential Requirements • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) • Legal right to work in Australia • Minimum 1-year full-time equivalent post registration experience in nursing. • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) • National Police Check (within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain) • Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements • Demonstrated current professional knowledge and skills • Excellent time management and communication skills Desirable • Current surgical nursing experience. • Experience in a digital health environment (EMR, eMeds) A Workplace That Welcomes Everyone At Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, we are committed to a culture of inclusion and respect.
