Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Pharma)
Job Summary:
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and driving sales performance within an assigned geographic region in the pharmaceutical sector. The role involves achieving sales targets, managing a team of Medical Representatives, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales & Business Development
• Achieve regional sales targets and growth objectives.
• Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company goals.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand product penetration.
2. Team Management
• Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise Medical Representatives.
• Set individual sales targets and KPIs.
• Conduct regular field visits and performance reviews.
• Motivate and guide the team to maximize productivity.
3. Relationship Management
• Build and maintain strong relationships with doctors, pharmacists, hospitals, and distributors.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service.
• Organize and participate in CME programs, product launches, and promotional activities.
4. Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure adherence to pharma marketing codes and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare and submit sales reports, forecasts, and market intelligence.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams.
5. Budget & Territory Management
• Manage regional promotional budgets effectively.
• Optimize territory coverage and distribution networks.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
• Sales revenue achievement (% of target)
• Market share growth
• Territory expansion
• Team productivity and retention
• Customer coverage and call average
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
• Bachelors degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration, or related field.
• MBA (Marketing) preferred.
Experience:
• 5–10 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
• Minimum 2–3 years in a team handling/managerial role.
Skills:
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Strategic planning and analytical ability
• Knowledge of pharma regulations and compliance
• Proficiency in MS Office and CRM tools
