You’ll be part of a global engineering team working on mission-critical APIs and backend services. Position Summary As a Java Web Developer, you will design, build, deploy, and support high-performance web APIs and backend services primarily using Java Spring Boot, contributing to scalable enterprise applications. You will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of web-based services. Key Responsibilities Develop, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Java Spring Boot. Troubleshoot API issues, provide operational support, and coordinate with infrastructure and partner teams to resolve incidents. Monitor API performance and infrastructure uptime to meet uptime and SLAs. Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code with proper documentation. Ensure API reliability and security best practices during development and deployment. Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including logs, runbooks, and troubleshooting guides. Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning). Aid in performance tuning, code optimization, and platform hardening. Engage with global teams to share updates and coordinate deliverables. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field. Minimum 5+ years of software development experience with a strong emphasis on backend services. Extensive experience with Java and Spring Boot for building web APIs and microservices. Solid understanding of REST API principles, authentication/authorization patterns, error handling, and versioning. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (e.g., Git, automated builds, deployments). Experience troubleshooting distributed systems and production support scenarios. Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills. Comfortable working in a 2nd shift aligned with APAC team hours. Preferred Skills (nice to have) Familiarity with OpenShift / Kubernetes orchestration. Experience with logging, monitoring, metrics, or alerting tools. Exposure to data-platform environments or Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark) is a plus. Knowledge of API gateways, distributed debugging tools, or related integration platforms.
