Junior Python Data Engineer (Azure)

Client: Our client is a leading global investment management firm. • Position overview: We are seeking a Junior Python Data Engineer (Azure) to support ETL/ELT development and data pipeline implementation for investment data in a hybrid cloud environment. • The candidate will work closely with senior data engineers to build and maintain data pipelines using Azure services and Python. • Responsibilities: Assist in developing and maintaining data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric • Write and modify SQL queries to support data transformations and reporting • Develop Python scripts for data processing and transformation tasks • Support Spark / PySpark workflows under the guidance of senior engineers • Participate in ETL/ELT implementation and testing • Work with relational databases such as MS SQL and PostgreSQL • Support data validation and quality checks • Follow data governance and security standards defined by the team • Monitor pipelines and report issues to senior engineers • Collaborate with team members to understand business data requirements • 2 years of hands-on experience in SQL • 1–2 years of practical experience in Python for data processing • Basic experience with ETL or ELT processes • Exposure to Azure data services (Azure Data Factory or Microsoft Fabric preferred) • Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts • Understanding of cloud-based development environments • Willingness to learn and grow in distributed data processing (Spark/PySpark exposure preferred) • Nice to have: Basic exposure to Spark or PySpark • Experience with MS SQL or PostgreSQL • Basic understanding of AWS services • Familiarity with Power BI • Exposure to CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins) • Basic understanding of Docker
