Job Title: Blood Sample Collection Executive / PhlebotomistJob Summary The Blood Sample Collection Executive is responsible for collecting blood samples from patients safely and accurately while maintaining hygiene, patient comfort, and proper documentation. The role includes handling sample transportation and ensuring timely delivery to the laboratory for testing. Key Responsibilities • Blood Sample Collection • Collect blood samples from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques. • Ensure patient safety and comfort during the procedure. • Follow all infection control and hygiene protocols. • Patient Interaction • Verify patient identity before sample collection. • Explain the procedure to patients politely and professionally. • Address basic patient concerns related to sample collection. • Sample Handling • Label samples correctly with patient details. • Ensure proper storage and transportation of samples to the laboratory. • Maintain sample integrity and avoid contamination. • Documentation • Maintain accurate records of collected samples. • Update collection logs and submit reports to the lab or supervisor. • Equipment & Hygiene • Ensure all collection equipment is sterile and properly disposed of after use. • Maintain cleanliness of the collection area and follow biomedical waste guidelines. • Home Collection (if applicable) • Visit patients' homes for blood sample collection when scheduled. • Ensure safe transportation of collected samples to the lab within the required time. Requirements • Minimum 12th pass (Science preferred). • Phlebotomy / DMLT certification preferred. • Basic knowledge of blood collection procedures and medical safety protocols. • Good communication and patient-handling skills. • Ability to travel for home sample collection if required. Experience • 0–2 years of experience in blood sample collection or laboratory assistance preferred.
