About Our Exciting Career Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced, innovative, and critical thinker for our Data Engineer position. The Data Engineer is primarily responsible for playing a pivotal role in advancing our data infrastructure, serving as the foundation of our AI and Data Analytics strategies. The position will be responsible for developing, deploying, and managing data engineering projects. Their primary focus is to assist the VP of Emerging Technologies in architecting the data platform (on premise, cloud and hybrid), data pipeline development, data governance and performance monitoring. The incumbent will also use AI in support of data management capabilities.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in data engineering, Information Systems or related technical field.
• 5+ years' experience in data engineering (building data pipes, data lakes, data warehouse)
• Proficient in constructing and managing modern data warehouse and data lake house architectures, ensuring scalable and efficient data storage.
• Skilled in building and maintaining robust data pipelines and orchestrations, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
• Deep knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes for data transformation and integration.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and orchestration tools.
• Data Governance - Data Quality Controls, General Ledger Reconciliations, Transmission and interface controls
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience in data storage frameworks (Apache Spark, Databricks, or Hadoop).
• Must have an innovative mindset and be forward thinking along with advanced written and verbal communications skills. Must also have excellent attention to detail, organizational skills and initiative.
• Banking & Financial Services data domain knowledge is a plus.
