Staff Accountant/Senior Staff Accountant (Nagpur)

Our current investment portfolios include: - Emergence Mobility Technologies (AutoTech) – Next-generation vehicle acquisition and inventory management platforms - Emergence Healthcare Technologies (HCIT) – High-efficiency billing optimization, patient engagement, and clinical care software - Emergence Container Technologies (Cloud Infrastructure) – Modern DevOps, observability, and secure cloud performance tools - Emergence Procurement Technologies (Supply Chain Tech) – Procurement, logistics, and manufacturing visibility systems The Role Month-End, Quarter-End & Year-End Close - Participate in and support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process - Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, amortization, depreciation, and reclassifications - Ensure timely and accurate close in accordance with established close calendars - Maintain accuracy and completeness of financial records U.S. GAAP Financial Reporting - Prepare and support U.S. GAAP–compliant financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement) - Ensure proper period recognition of revenue and expenses - Support preparation of management and external reporting packages Accrual Accounting & Cash-to-Accrual Conversion - Record and maintain accrued expenses, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and other accrual-based entries - Assist in or independently perform conversion of cash-basis financials to accrual-basis financials - Maintain roll-forward schedules for accrual-related accounts - Ensure accurate cutoff and matching of revenues and expenses Account Reconciliations - Prepare and maintain bank reconciliations - Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items - Support or manage inter-company / brother-company reconciliations - Investigate discrepancies and recommend corrective actions Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable (AR/AP) - Support AR and AP processes including invoicing, collections support, vendor payments, and reconciliations - Reconcile AR and AP subledgers to the general ledger - Monitor aging reports and assist in resolving outstanding balances - Ensure accurate cutoff and period-end recognition Fixed Assets - Maintain fixed asset schedules and registers - Record asset additions, disposals, transfers, and impairments - Calculate and post monthly depreciation - Reconcile fixed asset balances and support audit schedules Documentation, Controls & Audit Support - Maintain clear and organized supporting documentation for journal entries and reconciliations - Support internal and external audit requests - Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies - Assist in improving documentation, templates, and workflows Senior Staff Accountant – Additional Responsibilities - Lead key components of the month-end close process - Review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules prepared by junior staff - Ensure balance sheet integrity and month-over-month consistency - Resolve complex accounting issues independently Advanced Accruals & Technical Accounting (Senior Level) - Own complex accruals, estimates, and judgment-based entries - Evaluate accounting treatment under U.S. GAAP - Support revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting - Oversee cash-to-accrual conversions for complete financial statements Variance Analysis & Financial Analysis (Senior Level) - Perform month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter, and budget vs. actual variance analysis - Identify trends, anomalies, and key drivers behind financial results - Prepare transparent explanations for management and stakeholders - Support decision-making through analytical insights Budgeting, Forecasting & FP&A; Support - Partner with FP&A; on annual budgets, forecasts, and re-forecasts - Support financial modeling and projections - Analyze actual results versus forecast and budget - Assist with cash flow forecasting and working capital analysis Leadership & Process Improvement (Senior Level) - Mentor and train Staff Accountants - Act as a subject-matter expert for accounting-related questions - Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency - Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, FP&A;, and leadership Skills & Competencies - Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accrual accounting principles - Hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting - Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups) - Experience with accounting systems and ERPs - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills Qualifications - CA or CPA & Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance Staff Accountant - 1–3 years of accounting experience (public or industry) - Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles Senior Staff Accountant - 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience - Proven ownership of month-end close and financial reporting - Experience reviewing work and mentoring junior staff Preferred Qualifications - CPA or CA eligible - Public accounting background - Experience supporting U.S.-based entities or clients - Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A;
