GHE Impact Ventures is a social enterprise working to create sustainable, scalable impact in remote communities through clean energy, healthcare, education and livelihoods. We are seeking a Digital Platforms & SEO Specialist to manage our websites, lead search optimization efforts and coordinate content and campaign performance across our digital channels. This is a hands-on role combining WordPress management, SEO strategy, and data-driven content guidance.
Key Responsibilities
1. WordPress & Website Management
Manage and maintain the WordPress websites for GHE and Mountain Homestays.
Update content including blogs, team pages, campaigns, impact stories and landing pages.
Build new pages for ongoing initiatives, ensuring responsive design and optimal user experience.
Troubleshoot backend issues and coordinate with developers when needed.
2. SEO Strategy & Execution
Conduct on-page and technical SEO audits to improve website visibility and ranking.
Optimize existing content for search engines (meta descriptions, alt tags, internal linking, etc.)
Use tools like Yoast or RankMath to improve content quality and keyword alignment.
Monitor and report performance via Google Search Console and implement fixes as needed.
3. Analytics & Insights
Set up and manage tracking tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Search Console, and Meta Business Suite.
Generate monthly reports on website traffic, user behavior, campaign performance and content engagement.
Provide insights to guide content development, identify high-performing themes and recommend areas for improvement.
4. Content Coordination & Platform Guidance
Work closely with content creators and designers to ensure accurate and timely updates across digital assets.
Guide teams on structuring content for better readability, engagement and SEO alignment.
Provide light-touch support for ad campaign tracking and audience targeting (Google Ads, Meta).
Ensure alignment between website content and outbound messaging on digital platforms.
Ideal Candidate / Requirements
Technical Skills & Experience
• WordPress Management (24 years): Able to update and manage content, troubleshoot basic backend issues, and build new pages using blocks or page builders (e.g., Elementor, Gutenberg).
• SEO Proficiency: Experience with SEO tools like Yoast, RankMath, Google Search Console and basic keyword research. Strong understanding of on-page SEO (headings, meta descriptions, internal linking) and basic technical SEO (site structure, redirects, sitemap updates).
• Google Analytics (GA4): Confident in setting up and interpreting key metrics such as traffic sources, behavior flow and engagement time. Able to generate and explain performance reports to non-technical teams.
• Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram):
a. Experience running or supporting paid campaigns on Meta Business Manager.
b. Familiarity with Meta Pixel setup, event tracking and ensuring correct integration with WordPress (via GTM or plugins).
c. Understanding of retargeting strategies, custom audiences and lookalike audiences.
d. Ability to monitor campaign performance and suggest basic optimization for better reach or conversions.
• Basic HTML/CSS: Able to make small edits to fix formatting or styling issues without developer support.
• Familiarity with basic tools like Canva, Figma or Trello/Notion for visual editing or workflow tracking.
Content & Coordination Abilities
• Experience coordinating with design, communications or editorial teams for content publishing.
• Able to review and guide content formatting for SEO-friendliness and platform readiness.
• Comfortable repurposing and formatting content for different digital needs (website, newsletter, campaign pages, etc.).
Soft Skills & Attitude
• Detail-oriented: Checks for broken links, formatting inconsistencies and metadata gaps regularly.
• Analytical mindset: Comfortable translating data into actionable insights.
• Self-starter: Can prioritize and execute digital updates without constant oversight.
• Collaborative: Works well across teams and brings digital best practices into ongoing discussions.
• Mission-aligned: Genuinely interested in sustainability, rural development or responsible travel.
• Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Sendinblue) and CRM integration.
• Exposure to Google Tag Manager (GTM) and event tracking beyond Meta Pixel.
• Prior work in tourism, social impact or nonprofit digital storytelling.
