The role Hitachi Vantara is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join its Global Business Operations Analytics team. Being a part of the Hitachi Vantara finance organization, this team connects the dots across multiple business functions to drive growth, promote data-driven decision making and helps solve dynamic business problems. The data analyst will work with and learn from a broad set of internal stakeholders, including and not limited to - services, sales, marketing, product management, finance, pricing, and partner operations, as well as key business owners and stakeholders across multiple levels and functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong experience and confidence in working with multiple data sources to deliver insightful, accurate analyses that drive actionable outcomes, improve business processes, and support executive decision-making. Success in this role requires exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail and data quality, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities and expectations will include: • Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross functional teams to ask the right questions, translate business needs into data requirements, and ensure alignment on objectives. • Develop, maintain, and optimize dashboards and reports in Power BI, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and business integrity. • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. • Applying statistical analysis to drive strategic and tactical decision-making. • Track critical business KPIs to measure performance and identify areas of improvement. • Identify opportunities to enhance existing reports, data models, and reporting processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and insight delivery. • Gather, compile, and transform large sets of data from multiple sources into structured information for analysis while ensuring data quality. • Support business and process improvement projects requiring improved data and insights • Incorporate and stay updated on best industry practices to have impactful and scalable BI reporting. What you'll bring• Bachelor's or Master's in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Quantitative Marketing, or Engineering preferred, combined with professional experience in a quantitative discipline performing statistical analysis. • A minimum of 3+ years of experience as a business analyst, data analyst or similar quantitative discipline. • Excellent problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to team with others. • High energy, creative, and self-starting; comfortable with ambiguity and possessing the ability to complete multiple projects on time. • Experience with data sources, reporting and analytics applications such as Denodo ODBC, SQL Servers etc. • Proficient knowledge of SQL, Python and Power BI. • Expert knowledge of data modelling and MS Excel, as well as data visualization concepts and experience. • Eagerness to collaborate with individuals from varying backgrounds and diverse skill sets.
