Practice Lead - Azure Data Engineering

Description :Job Title : Azure Data Engineering Practice LeadNotice period - Immediate.Job Summary :We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Engineering Practice Lead to spearhead our Azure data capabilities across delivery and pre-sales. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on Azure Data Engineering expert with strong leadership and mentoring skills, capable of leading solution architecture for enterprise clients while also nurturing internal capabilities, developing reusable assets, and building and growing the data engineering talent pool across the Azure ecosystem.Required Skills & Experience :Must-Have :- 15+ years in Data Engineering, with at least 5 years in Azure-native solutions- Proven experience in leading client-facing architecture engagements and presales solutioning with architecture blueprints, PoCs, and solution demos- Strong hands-on knowledge of :1. Azure Databricks (Delta Lake, Medallion architecture)2. Azure Data Factory / Fabric data factory, ADLS Gen2, Azure SQL / Microsoft Fabric, Azure Functions, Stream Analytics, Event Hubs etc3. AI enabled data quality and data governance- Microsoft Purview4. GenAI/LLM for Data Engineering : Awareness of using LLMs (Azure OpenAI, Copilot) to auto-document or generate data pipelines.5. Domain Knowledge : Experience in domains such as Retail, Manufacturing, Healthcare, BFSI with data platform needs.6. Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Direct Lake, Dataflows Gen2)- Experience with batch & streaming pipelines, modern data lakehouse architectures, and data mesh principles.- Handling Azure data engineering pool, mentoring engineers to grow as per business unit requirements- Motivate Azure engineer pool, engaging with pool engineers and evaluating external and internal engineers fitments for different practice & billable roles- Experience building solution delivery accelerators, reusables, or internal assets.- Knowledge of dbt, Apache Kafka / IoT Hubs, or modern ETL tools.- Desired Microsoft Certifications : Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer, Fabric Analytics EngineerNice to Have :- On-site client work experience / working on client locations (ref:hirist.tech)
