Cloud Engineer

Position Overview We’re looking for a hands-on Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and operate secure, scalable cloud infrastructure in a remote-first environment. You’ll work closely with DevOps, Platform, and Engineering teams to build reliable cloud-native systems using modern IaC, CI / CD, and observability practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable with automation, cost optimization, and production-grade operations. Key Responsibilities 1. Cloud Infrastructure & Architecture • Design, deploy, and manage cloud environments on AWS / Azure / GCP . • Build highly available, scalable architectures for web apps, APIs, and data workloads. • Implement networking (VPC / VNet, subnets, routing), IAM, and security best practices. 2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation • Provision infrastructure using Terraform / AWS CDK / ARM / Bicep. • Build reusable modules and maintain versioned infrastructure. • Automate environment provisioning (dev / stage / prod) and drift detection. 3. CI / CD & Platform Operations • Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines using GitHub Actions / GitLab CI / Jenkins. • Support containerized workloads with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS / AKS / GKE). • Implement blue-green and canary deployments. 4. Reliability, Observability & Incident Response • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch / Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana). • Own SLOs / SLIs and participate in on-call rotations. • Lead root-cause analysis and post-incident reviews; drive reliability improvements. 5. Security, Compliance & Cost Optimization • Enforce security baselines (least privilege IAM, secrets management, encryption in transit / at rest). • Support compliance requirements (SOC 2, ISO 27001 basics—project dependent). • Optimize cloud spend using budgets, cost allocation, and right-sizing. Required Skills & Experience Core Skills • 2–6+ years of hands-on experience with AWS / Azure / GCP (one primary cloud required). • Strong Linux fundamentals and scripting (Bash / Python). • Experience with Terraform (or equivalent IaC). • Hands-on CI / CD and Git workflows. • Networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP / IP, load balancing). Modern Skills (2024–2025 Preferred) • Kubernetes operations and Helm. • Secrets management (Vault, cloud-native secrets). • Observability stacks (Open Telemetry, Prometheus / Grafana). • Policy-as-code (OPA), security scanning in CI / CD. • Experience with FinOps practices. • Exposure to serverless (AWS Lambda / Azure Functions).
