Sr. BI Developer

Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer Experience: 6–10+ Years Location: Role Type: Full-time Role Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Power BI Developer to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-grade BI dashboards and analytics solutions. The role requires strong expertise in Power BI development, data modeling, performance optimization, and collaboration with business stakeholders to enable impactful data-driven insights. Key Responsibilities Power BI Development • Design and develop interactive, visually compelling dashboards and reports • Build optimized data models using Power BI Desktop and Service • Develop complex DAX measures and calculations • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and data protection standards • Integrate multiple data sources including SQL, Data Lake, Azure, Excel, APIs, cloud platforms Data Modeling & Architecture • Design effective star/snowflake schemas, semantic models • Optimize data refresh strategy and dataset performance • Work closely with Data Engineering teams for structured data pipelines Performance Optimization • Optimize report performance (query tuning, DAX optimization, model refinement) • Troubleshoot dataset refresh, gateway, and performance issues Platform & Governance • Publish reports and manage Power BI Service workspace administration • Implement governance, versioning, and lifecycle best practices • Ensure adherence to enterprise data governance, compliance, and security standards Stakeholder Collaboration • Work with business users to translate requirements into BI solutions • Participate in requirement workshops and storyboarding sessions • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior developers Required Skills & Experience • 6+ years of experience in BI / Analytics with at least 4+ years in Power BI • Strong expertise in: • Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service • DAX, Power Query (M), Data Modeling • SQL querying and database concepts • Experience working with: • Azure Data Platform / Data Lake / Synapse / Fabric (preferred) • Enterprise Data Warehouses or Data Lakes • Experience in Agile / Sprint-based delivery environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Nice to Have • Experience with Azure Fabric / Databricks / Synapse • Knowledge of ETL tools (ADF / SSIS / Informatica) • Experience in enterprise-scale BI implementations • Cloud certifications (Azure preferred) Soft Skills • Excellent communication and stakeholder management • Business acumen and ability to understand user needs • Proactive, ownership mindset • Ability to work independently and mentor others
