Senior Tekla Checker – Structural Steel

Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Tekla Checker – Structural Steel to review and validate structural steel detailing models and drawings for EPC engineering and industrial projects. The candidate will be responsible for checking Tekla models, ensuring detailing accuracy, verifying fabrication drawings, and coordinating with detailing and design teams to ensure error-free deliverables for fabrication and erection. Core Responsibilities • Review and check structural steel 3D models and drawings developed in Tekla Structures for accuracy and completeness. • Verify GA drawings, assembly drawings, and part drawings before releasing them for fabrication. • Check structural connections, bolt sizes, weld symbols, and plate details as per design requirements. • Ensure compliance of detailing with design drawings, EPC project specifications, and fabrication standards. • Identify modeling errors, clashes, or missing information in the Tekla model. • Coordinate with detailers, design engineers, and project teams to resolve technical discrepancies. • Verify material lists, numbering systems, and bill of materials (BOM) generated from the model. • Review erection drawings and installation details to ensure smooth site execution. • Maintain drawing revision control and ensure proper documentation of model updates. • Provide technical support to fabrication and site teams for drawing clarifications and modifications. Qualification & Experience • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering. • Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel detailing and checking. • Strong working experience with Tekla Structures. • Experience in structural steel projects within EPC, industrial, or plant engineering environments. Preferred Skills • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication processes and erection practices. • Strong understanding of GA drawings, shop drawings, and connection detailing. • Ability to review complex structural steel models and ensure fabrication readiness.
