AI/ML Engineer (UAV Domain Preferred)

Role Description IZI is seeking a full-time AI/ML Engineer to join our team in Bhopal for an on-site role. Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing algorithms, developing models for pattern recognition, and advancing neural network architectures tailored to enhance our innovative products in the UAV domain. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, solving complex technical challenges, and staying at the forefront of AI/ML advancements are key aspects of this role. Qualifications: • Develop and maintain software using Python, C, C++, and Embedded C++ • Model Development: Design and train ML models for object detection, obstacle avoidance, path planning, and autonomous navigation. • Edge Deployment: Optimize models for real-time inference on hardware-constrained environments (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, or custom flight controllers). • Data Pipeline Management: Build and maintain pipelines for processing aerial imagery and sensor data (LiDAR, RGB, Thermal). • Avionics Integration: Work closely with the hardware/avionics team to integrate AI algorithms with flight control systems and telemetry protocols. • Performance Monitoring: Define and track KPIs for model accuracy and reliability in diverse environmental conditions (low light, high wind, etc.) Technical Skills Required • Strong proficiency in Python, C, C++, and Embedded C++ • Core AI/ML: Strong proficiency in Python, PyTorch, or TensorFlow. • Computer Vision: Experience with OpenCV and architectures like YOLO, SSD, or Transformers for spatial analysis • Edge Computing: Familiarity with TensorRT, ONNX, or OpenVINO for model quantization and optimization. Aerospace Knowledge: Familiarity with UAV communication protocols (MavLink, ROS/ROS2) and flight stacks (PX4, ArduPilot). • Mathematics: Solid foundation in linear algebra, calculus, and 3D geometry for coordinate transformations. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Sensor Fusion (combining IMU, GPS, and Vision data). • Background in Aerospace Avionics or flight simulation environments (Gazebo, AirSim). • Understanding of embedded C/C++ for low-level system optimization.
