A well-established consumer durables organization with strong brand presence in Indian households, operating a large service and dealer network across the country.
Role Summary:
This role is responsible for managing consumer and commercial litigation arising from product, service, and channel partner disputes. The position also supports regulatory compliance and trademark management, working closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Litigation Management
· Handle consumer litigation across District, State, and National Consumer Forums
· Manage civil and commercial disputes including dealer/distributor conflicts, recovery matters, and cheque dishonour cases
· Draft legal notices, replies, pleadings, affidavits, and settlement documentation
· Coordinate with external counsel and drive litigation strategy and timelines
2. Regulatory & Compliance Advisory
· Advise business and service teams on consumer laws, product compliance, and advertising regulations
· Support responses to regulatory notices and enforcement actions
· Identify legal risks and suggest process improvements to minimize disputes
3. Intellectual Property (IP)
· Manage trademark portfolio including filings, renewals, objections, and oppositions
· Conduct brand clearance searches for new products/sub-brands
· Support brand protection and enforcement actions where required
Candidate Profile:
· LL.B. from a recognized university; Bar enrolment mandatory
· 6–8 years PQE with strong exposure to consumer/civil litigation
· Experience in FMCG/consumer durables or law firms handling similar matters preferred
· Strong drafting, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills
· Ability to manage high-volume litigation in a fast-paced environment
