Job Title: Intensive/Critical Care Doctor (Expatriate) Location: Nigeria Job Summary The Intensive Care Physician is responsible for providing specialized, high-quality care to critically ill patients in the ICU. The role involves advanced life support, continuous patient monitoring, multidisciplinary team coordination, and ensuring adherence to clinical best practices. Key Responsibilities • Provide 24/7 medical care and clinical leadership for critically ill ICU patients. • Perform advanced life support procedures, including intubation, ventilation management, and central line insertion. • Monitor and manage life-threatening conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure, shock, and multi-organ failure. • Interpret diagnostic tests, including arterial blood gases, imaging, and laboratory results. • Lead and participate in daily multidisciplinary ward rounds. • Supervise junior doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare staff. • Respond to medical emergencies and conduct rapid response or code blue activities. • Ensure proper documentation of patient care and compliance with hospital policies. • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical governance. • Educate patients' families and provide regular updates on clinical progress. Qualifications & Experience • MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution. • Postgraduate qualification in Intensive Care / Critical Care / Anaesthesia / Internal Medicine. • Valid medical license with the relevant Medical Council. • Minimum of 3–7 years' clinical experience, with ICU-specific experience preferred. Key Skills & Competencies • Advanced clinical and diagnostic skills in critical care medicine. • Strong leadership and decision-making ability under pressure. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work in shifts, night duties, and emergency on-call rotations. • Proficiency in the use of ventilators, monitoring systems, and ICU technology.
