Senior PL/SQL or T-SQL Developer

Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled PL/SQL or T-SQL Developer with expertise in database design, data modeling, and the development of stored procedures. This role is ideal for a database professional who can contribute to the architecture and optimization of relational databases in enterprise environments. Database Design and Modeling: Design and implement robust database schemas, including normalization, indexing strategies, and entity-relationship modeling using tools like ER/Studio, Visio, or SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)/Oracle SQL Developer. Ensure designs align with business requirements, data integrity, and performance best practices. Stored Procedure Development: Develop, optimize, and maintain complex stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views in PL/SQL (Oracle) or T-SQL (SQL Server). Focus on efficient query execution, error handling, and transaction management to support high-volume data operations. Performance Tuning and Optimization: Analyze and tune SQL queries for performance, utilizing execution plans, indexing, and partitioning. Identify bottlenecks in database operations and implement solutions to enhance scalability. Data Integration and ETL Processes: Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines using SSIS (for SQL Server) or Oracle Data Integrator/Data Pump (for Oracle), ensuring seamless data flow between systems. Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with Solution Architects, developers, and QA teams to integrate database components into applications. Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, models, and code. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Debug and resolve database-related issues in production environments, including data migration, backups, and recovery strategies. Best Practices Implementation: Adhere to security standards (e.g., role-based access, encryption), version control (e.g., Git for scripts), and CI/CD pipelines for database deployments. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience as a Database Developer, with proven expertise in PL/SQL (Oracle) or T-SQL (SQL Server). Strong background in relational database management systems (RDBMS), preferably with hands-on experience in Oracle Database or Microsoft SQL Server. Proficiency in database design principles, including logical and physical data modeling. Experience developing and optimizing stored procedures, with a focus on modular, reusable code. Essential Skills Advanced SQL querying and scripting in PL/SQL or T-SQL. Familiarity with database tools such as SSMS, or Azure Data Studio Or Toad or PL/SQL Developer, . Understanding of data warehousing concepts, including star/snowflake schemas. Knowledge of performance monitoring tools like SQL Server Profiler or Oracle Enterprise Manager. Ability to work in agile environments, with experience in version control and automated testing for database code. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical database solutions. Exposure to NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB) or cloud-based databases (e.g., Azure SQL, Oracle Cloud).
