Job Title: Tool Designer – Injection MouldingJob Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool Designer with strong expertise in injection mould design, tool development, and tool room processes. The ideal candidate should possess solid knowledge of design software, manufacturing techniques, and tool room equipment, along with excellent communication and presentation skills.
Key Responsibilities
• Design injection moulds and related tools using industry-standard design software (CAD/CAM).
• Develop, review, and improve tool designs based on product requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
• Execute tool correction, modification, and optimization as required to ensure product quality and cycle time improvement.
• Coordinate and support tool & die development, manufacturing, and validation activities.
• Collaborate with tool room and production teams to resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Utilize knowledge of tool room machines such as VMC, W/C (Wire Cut), EDM, Lathe, Surface Grinder (SG), etc., to support machining and tool manufacturing processes.
• Prepare and maintain tool room documentation, including:
• PM Plan vs. Actual
• Breakdown (B/D) Analysis and corrective action
• MTTR & MTBF reports
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and manufacturing standards throughout the tool development cycle.
• Present design concepts, design changes, and improvement proposals effectively to internal stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, UG NX, CATIA, or similar).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Hands-on experience in tool design, tool modification, and tool improvement.
• In-depth understanding of injection mould design principles and tool manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with tool room machines such as VMC, Wire Cut (W/C), EDM, Lathe, Surface Grinder, etc.
• Ability to analyse tool performance and maintain technical documentation (PM, B/D analysis, MTTR, MTBF).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Experience
• Preferably 4-5 years (or specify as needed) of experience in injection mould tool design or similar role.
Education
• Diploma/Degree in Tool & Die Making, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
