Manager - Vehicle Engineering

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables • Lead the day-to-day management of the Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems. Responsible for components and systems from early concept through to current production. • Lead component and system Quality, Cost and Delivery target setting, compatibility, and adherence. • Manage the design, development and delivery of the Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems. • Manage the integration of Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems with Chassis Systems: Suspension, Steering, Subframes, Powertrain Mounts and Wheels & Tyres. • Create system archetypes and component development roadmaps for future vehicle cycle planning. • Ensure technical best practice documentation, design manuals and testing procedures are appropriately created and maintained to ensure consistency and robust failure mode avoidance. • Ensure all failure mode avoidance activities, commodity planning, design progression and DVP testing is completed to achieve Final Engineering Sign Off in line with timing constraints. Experience 9 to 12 Years Industry Preferred Automotive Qualifications B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering General Requirements • Good working knowledge of Performance, Durability and NVH attributes their impact on Chassis Systems. • Excellent knowledge of testing and development processes, GD&T, DFM & tooling principles, appreciation for VFM. • Excellent knowledge of Engineering Quality tools such as DFMEA, 6-sigma, 8D Problem Solving. • Good working knowledge of MISSION or an equivalent Product Creation System such as GPDS, FPDS, AMPC. • Knowledge on MATLAB Simulink, added advantage on Kinematics & ADAMS. • Extensive knowledge in compiling the validation of Front axle, Rear axle, Wheel end and Other vehicle parts systems. • High level knowledge of instrumentation and measurement processes for objective chassis performance to cascade to system and component targets. • Expertise on FEA, load cases and durability analysis.
