We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented ASCP Certified Pharmacist to join our team on a part-time, on-site basis in a regional healthcare facility serving the Southern United States. This role involves preparing and dispensing medication orders accurately according to physician requests and established protocols. Key Responsibilities: • Interpret and transcribe medication orders, maintaining precise patient medication profiles. • Ensure all medications dispensed are accurately filled, properly labeled, and within expiration dates. • Deliver medications promptly to patient care units, including stat and routine orders. • Apply auxiliary labels appropriately and compound pharmaceuticals, including sterile and parenteral nutrition products. • Maintain adequate medication stock in patient bins and automated dispensing machines, performing regular inspections and restocking as needed. • Review override medications, verify physician orders, and ensure all charges are posted correctly. • Use aseptic techniques during IV medication preparation and maintain cleanliness and logs for IV preparation areas. • Maintain security of pharmacy and medication storage areas, issue controlled substances, and keep accurate records in compliance with legal requirements. • Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures and providing performance feedback. • Conduct monthly inspections of nursing units, crash carts, and floor stock medications, removing expired stock and documenting inspections. Education and Experience: • ASCP certification or equivalent pharmacy licensure required. • Experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings preferred. Requirements: • Strong knowledge of medication preparation, dispensing, and safety protocols. • Ability to work independently and supervise pharmacy staff. • Commitment to promoting a culture of safety and excellent customer service. • Compliance with all relevant federal, state, and regulatory agency guidelines.
