Role Purpose Responsible for defining, supporting, implementing, and perfecting the architecture and processes of the product and platforms required to meet business goals and aims Requirements • 6+ years of relevant experience into Postgres & SQL • Experience in Cloud Architecture e.g. AWS / Azure, etc. • Solid Experience and Understanding of DB architecture & implementations • Experience and Knowledge in MongoDB will be an added advantage Duties and Responsibilities KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/KRAs/KPIs • Installing your PostgreSQL Software • Creating PostgreSQL Databases • Managing the PostgreSQL Cluster • Estimate PostgreSQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage. • Support, administer and maintain database environments running MongoDB LUW • Develop procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention, reducing any need downtime. • Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing, Archiving). • Managing Database Storage Structures • Administering User Security • Managing Data Concurrency • Managing Undo Data • Implementing Database Auditing • Database Maintenance • Performance Management • Responsible for query tuning • Backup and Recovery Concepts • Performing Database Backups • Performing Database Recovery • Moving Data • Patch Management • Experience with database migrations to PostgreSQL will be an added advantage • Good communication skills • Good time management skills • Migration experience from other database technologies to Postgres would be advantageous.
