Robotics & Automation Engineer

Job Title: Officer / Sr. Officer – Robotics and Automation Location: GMG Factory W82 Department: Production Reports To: Plant head Type: Full-time Key Responsibilities Automation Design & Deployment · Design robotic cells and automated production lines for CNC loading/unloading, assembly, testing, painting, and packaging · Select robots, PLCs, sensors, vision systems, and automation hardware · Develop automation layouts and technical specifications Programming & Integration · Program industrial robots (ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, etc.) · Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs · Integrate robots with CNC machines, testers, AGVs, conveyors, and MES systems Installation & Commissioning · Lead automation project installation and start-up · Debug systems and optimize cycle times · Ensure smooth production ramp-up Process Improvement · Identify manual processes suitable for automation · Drive productivity improvement and cost reduction initiatives · Support Lean manufacturing and CI programs Maintenance & Support · Establish preventive maintenance plans for robotic systems · Troubleshoot automation breakdowns · Maintain program backups and spare parts strategy Safety & Compliance · Ensure automation systems comply with industrial safety standards · Conduct risk assessments and implement safety guarding systems · Support statutory compliance and audits Documentation & Training · Prepare SOPs, control documents, and technical manuals · Train operators and maintenance staff on automated systems Qualifications · Bachelor’s Degree in Robotics / Automation / Electrical / Mechatronics / Mechanical Engineering · Certification in PLC/Robotics preferred Experience · 3–8 years’ experience in industrial automation or robotics (manufacturing environment preferred) · Hands-on experience with robots, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems Technical Skills · Robot programming & commissioning · PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, Delta, etc.) · HMI/SCADA systems · Sensors, pneumatics, and motion control · Machine safety systems · Industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus)
