The role includes supervising library staff, managing academic resources, supporting teaching and research activities, and ensuring efficient library services for students and faculty. Key Responsibilities - Plan, organize, and manage all library operations and services. - Supervise and guide library staff and assistants. - Develop and maintain library collections including books, journals, e-resources, and digital databases. - Ensure cataloguing, classification, and proper maintenance of library materials. - Prepare library budgets and coordinate procurement of books and subscriptions. - Support faculty and students in academic research and information retrieval. - Maintain library records, accession registers, and stock verification reports. - Implement and manage library management software and digital library systems. - Ensure compliance with institutional policies and accreditation requirements. - Conduct periodic library audits and stock verification. - Promote reading and research activities through library programs and orientation sessions. Qualification - Master’s Degree in Library Science (M.Lib.Sc) - Additional NET / PhD in Library Science preferred for senior academic institutions. Experience - 8–10 years of experience in library management, preferably in a college or university. - Experience in supervising library staff and managing academic resources.
