About MVN Engineering Services
MVN Engineering Services is a leading MEP design and consultancy firm serving architects and MEP consultants across the USA and Canada. With over a decade of experience in complex residential and commercial projects, MVN delivers comprehensive engineering solutions — from initial concept through to plan check approval — with a strong focus on sustainability, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
Our cross-disciplinary teams work across industries including hospitality, aviation, residential, and retail (shopping malls), bringing resource-conscious, tailored solutions to every project.
Role Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing team in Surat. In this role, you will lead the electrical design and documentation of commercial and residential building projects for US-based clients, ensuring technical accuracy, code compliance, and seamless coordination with other MEP disciplines.
This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to work on high-impact projects with architects and MEP consultants across North America.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop electrical systems for commercial and residential building projects, including power distribution, lighting, low-voltage, and emergency systems.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, load calculations, and specifications using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
• Perform electrical load calculations, short circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and fault current analysis.
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, structural, and architectural disciplines to ensure integrated, clash-free MEP designs.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable US codes and standards including NEC, NFPA 70/72/101, IBC, and local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
• Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and technical submittals during the construction administration phase.
• Support plan check approval processes and incorporate review comments into final design documents.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and QA/QC oversight.
• Liaise with US-based clients, architects, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions on time and within scope.
• Stay current with changes in US electrical codes, utility requirements, and evolving industry standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in electrical system design for MEP / building projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP (electrical) or similar BIM software strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC (National Electrical Code) and related NFPA standards.
• Experience with electrical design for commercial buildings — offices, hotels, retail, healthcare, or similar.
• Proficiency in load calculations, panel scheduling, and short circuit / arc flash analysis.
• Familiarity with lighting design tools (AGi32, DIALux, or similar) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
• Prior experience working on US/Canada-based MEP projects, either remotely or with international clients.
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems: fire alarm, security, AV, structured cabling, and EV charging infrastructure.
• Exposure to sustainable design and green building certifications (LEED, WELL, or similar).
• Experience with energy code compliance: ASHRAE 90.1, Title 24, or IECC.
• Familiarity with utility coordination and service entrance design for US projects.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection using Navisworks.
• Experience in hospitality, aviation, retail (mall), or large-scale residential projects.
What We Offer
• Opportunity to work on technically challenging and high-visibility US/Canada projects.
• Collaborative and growth-oriented work environment.
• Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.
• Professional development and training opportunities.
• Exposure to international engineering standards and practices.
