We are seeking a dedicated Facility Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our school infrastructure.
Job Summary:
The Facility Manager will be responsible for the efficient operation, upkeep, and safety of the school’s physical infrastructure. This role requires excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage maintenance teams, oversee facility operations, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and security of the school’s buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to enhance the longevity and safety of school facilities.
• Manage and lead a team of maintenance and custodial staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a secure learning environment.
• Monitor and manage the facilities budget, including procurement of supplies and equipment.
• Conduct regular facility inspections to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and ensure efficient resolution.
• Maintain facility-related records, including maintenance logs, safety reports, and equipment manuals.
• Coordinate facility usage for school events and activities, ensuring proper setup and takedown.
• Implement energy-saving initiatives and sustainability practices to optimize resource utilization.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Facility Manager or in a similar role, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
• Strong knowledge of facilities management operations, including maintenance, security, and safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in facilities management software and relevant technology.
• Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree or diploma in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification in facilities management (e.g., Certified Facility Manager (CFM)).
• Experience with budget management and cost control.
• Familiarity with IB school environments and international school culture.
