About the job: About the Company The organisation enables young Indians to pursue high-impact, purpose-driven careers in nation building. It believes in the power of younger generation to drive collective change and provides young professionals with the platform to create societal impact. Nation Building drives interventions to address the most pressing challenges affecting India across priority themes, with sports and health among its focus areas. About the preventive healthcare vertical Non-communicable diseases cause the highest number of premature deaths globally. India, too, faces a rising burden of non-communicable and preventable diseases driven by modifiable risk factors. However, the current systemic approach focuses on treatment and management rather than prevention. The preventive healthcare vertical aims to shift the paradigm and change the way health is currently addressed in India; the focus should not be restricted to how long Indians live, but also how well they live, with deliberate emphasis on early-life preventive interventions. With this vision, we are focused on bringing the spotlight to preventive public health in India, aiming to improve the environment of state interventions and public health communications to influence individual health and behaviour at scale. If this excites you, we invite you to join our dynamic team and contribute to the audacious goal. About the Role- You will join the preventive public healthcare vertical under the governance and policy team to build scientifically rooted, evidence-based policy content aimed at shaping policy discourse, institutional decision-making, and real-world interventions in Indias public health ecosystem. The role involves translating public health and medical evidence into policy-ready insights that can inform internal strategy as well as engagement with government and allied stakeholders. Responsibilities may expand over time based on performance, ownership, and analytical rigor. Stress testing and validation of research insights: You will be responsible for conducting rigorous research and developing context-specific public health hypotheses. This includes stress-testing insights through triangulation across policy documents, program data, scientific literature and field realities, and assessing feasibility within Indias health system and governance structures. The objective is to ensure that recommendations are scientifically robust, medically feasible, and decision-ready for policy formulation and advocacy. Tracking Public Health and Policy Developments: You will continuously track and synthesize developments across public health practice, health policy and medical science discourse, both in India and globally. This includes proactively identifying emerging evidence, paradigm shifts, and regulatory or programmatic changes, and assessing their implications for Indias preventive health strategy. Networking with relevant domain professionals: You will be required to actively build and sustain relationships with top health researchers, public health experts, academicians, health administrators, medical practitioners and allied professionals to strengthen the quality, relevance, and credibility of policy recommendations. These engagements will be leveraged to ground research in field realities and expert consensus, and push the agenda of on-ground, real-world impact. Building institutional knowledge on subject matters: You will anchor institutional memory by codifying public health and medical knowledge into structured repositories, frameworks, and reference materials. This will enable continuity, elevate the organisations long-term technical depth in preventive health policy, and create durable knowledge assets beyond individual projects. Training of generalist team members: You will play a key role in training and mentoring generalist policy team members, particularly those from non-public health and non-medical backgrounds. This will involve translating complex health and policy concepts into accessible insights, enabling cross-functional teams to engage confidently and meaningfully on public health issues. Client interaction and communication: You will engage directly with government stakeholders, clients, and allied institutions to present evidence-based insights, explain technical findings, and support informed policy decision-making. This includes tailoring communication for senior policymakers, ensuring clarity, credibility, and strategic alignment. Public interaction for advocacy: You will support public-facing engagement and advocacy efforts, including publications, podcasts, workshops, and other dissemination forums. Your role will involve translating research and policy insights into clear, non-technical narratives that can influence public discourse, stakeholder behavior, and policy outcomes. This role is well-suited for a young public health or policy professional seeking to work at the intersection of public policy, medical science, and governance in India. It is ideal for individuals motivated to contribute to preventive health policy and advocacy, with the objective of reshaping how individual health risks are understood, addressed, and governed in the context.
