Our flagship product OpenSign is an open-source alternative to DocuSign, used by businesses and developers worldwide for secure digital signatures and document workflows. We’re looking for engineers who want to build products used globally, not just write code. The Role We’re hiring a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (MERN) to work directly on OpenSign and other LegalTech + AI products. This role is not about maintaining legacy systems or building internal dashboards. You will help design and build core product architecture used by thousands of users. You’ll work on problems like: • scalable document workflows • distributed API systems • secure digital signature infrastructure • real-time collaboration features • AI-assisted document intelligence You’ll be expected to own features end-to-end — from architecture to deployment. What You'll Build You will help build and scale: • OpenSign – open-source digital signature infrastructure • AI first contract lifecycle management platform • AI-powered legal document tracking systems • scalable document processing pipelines • developer-first APIs for legal workflows • intelligent automation for agreements and contracts You’ll work across the entire stack: Frontend → Backend → Infrastructure → Performance. Responsibilities • Design and build scalable full-stack features using the MERN stack • Develop production-grade APIs using Node.js and Express • Build high-quality frontend applications with React • Design efficient MongoDB schemas and data pipelines • Improve system architecture and performance • Implement secure authentication, authorization, and document workflows • Work closely with founder, enterprise users and QA teams to ship features fast • Contribute to and maintain open-source components • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code • Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making Required Skills • 4+ years of experience building production-grade web applications • Strong proficiency in JavaScript & TypeScript • Deep experience with React.js • Strong backend experience with Node.js • Experience designing REST APIs • Experience working with MongoDB • Strong understanding of system design and scalable architecture • Experience working with Jira, Git and collaborative development workflows • Strong debugging and problem-solving ability • Ability to take ownership of features from idea to production Strongly Preferred • Experience building SaaS products • Experience working with document processing or PDF systems • Experience with AI APIs and use of AI in development • Familiarity with Docker / cloud infrastructure • Experience with web security and authentication systems • Experience contributing to open-source projects What Makes This Role Different This role asks you to build products that matter.
