PRT Computer Science Teacher, Ulwe

Job Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic Primary Teacher (PRT) for Computer Science to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for introducing primary school students to the world of computers, technology, and digital literacy. The PRT Computer Science will focus on developing students' basic computing skills, encouraging problem-solving abilities, and fostering creativity through the use of technology in a fun and engaging manner. Key Responsibilities: • Instruction: Plan and deliver engaging Computer Science lessons (coding, digital literacy, and office tools) using interactive, hands-on methods. • Curriculum & Adaptation: Implement the school curriculum, adapting lessons to meet diverse learning needs and real-world applications. • Assessment: Evaluate student progress through practical tasks and projects, providing constructive feedback and maintaining performance records. • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive lab environment focusing on digital safety, responsible tech use, and student collaboration. • Support & Engagement: Provide one-on-one assistance and lead technology-driven projects or coding challenges to build student confidence. • Communication: Regularly update parents on student achievements and technical progress through meetings and reports. • Professional Growth: Stay current with educational technology trends and collaborate with colleagues to improve learning outcomes Qualifications & Skills: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Education (with a focus on Computer Science); B.Ed or equivalent teaching certification is preferred. • Experience: Minimum 2 years experience teaching Computer Science at the primary school • Skills: • Strong knowledge of basic computer applications, digital literacy, coding, and internet safety. • Ability to make learning technology concepts engaging, practical, and accessible for young students. • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. • Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young learners.
