SAP OpenText Document Migration Specialist

Position: SAP/OpenText DMS Migration Specialist Location: Remote Contract Position Role Summary The SAP & Filesystem to OpenText DMS Migration Specialist is responsible for planning and executing end-to-end migration of enterprise documents and attachments from SAP systems and legacy file systems into an OpenText-based Document Management System (DMS). The role ensures secure, accurate, and compliant migration while preserving metadata, version history, and SAP business object linkages. Key Responsibilities • Migrate documents and attachments from SAP Content Server, ArchiveLink, SAP DMS, and file systems to OpenText DMS. • Analyse source repositories, document structures, and metadata, and define migration scope and rules. • Ensure correct linkage of migrated documents to SAP business objects (materials, BOMs, change records, PLM objects, etc.). • Validate document completeness, integrity, metadata accuracy, and version history post-migration. • Support SIT/UAT testing cycles, cutover activities, hypercare, and issue resolution. • Apply document retention, archival, security, and compliance policies during and after migration. • Collaborate closely with SAP PLM, Basis, DVM, Security, Data Migration teams, and OpenText implementation partners/vendors. • Provide regular migration status updates, highlight risks and dependencies, and manage issue tracking and resolution. Required Skills & Experience • Overall experience: 5+ years in SAP document/content management. • Strong, hands-on experience in SAP document and attachment migration projects. • Practical experience with OpenText DMS and SAP integration (ArchiveLink, content repositories, etc.). • Proven experience migrating content from SAP Content Server, ArchiveLink, SAP DMS, and file systems to OpenText. • Solid understanding of SAP document linkages and business object relationships (MM, PLM, engineering change, etc.). • Experience in ECC to S/4HANA migrations or large-scale SAP transformation programs. • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a distributed, remote team environment.
