Main Purpose:
Responsible for planning, reviewing and executing drilling and completion operations for clean energy linked well programs. Ensures technical assurance, consistent application of standards, and reliable well delivery, while strengthening team capability and operational discipline across drilling activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, review and validate drilling and completion programs including well design, casing design, mud programs, trajectories and execution strategies.
• Oversee end-to-end well delivery from planning through drilling, testing and handover for assigned wells.
• Ensure consistent compliance with HSE standards, regulatory requirements and well integrity guidelines.
• Review drilling performance, non-productive time, costs and operational risks. Guide corrective actions and improvement measures.
• Drive effective post-well reviews and ensure lessons learned are embedded into subsequent drilling programs.
• Coordinate closely with rig contractors, service providers and internal teams to maintain execution readiness and operational consistency.
• Support adoption of proven technologies, engineering improvements and cost optimisation measures.
• Play an active role in mentoring, coaching and skill development of drilling engineers and field teams.
• Participate in contractor performance reviews, tender evaluations and cost control initiatives.
• Review and validate technical reports, performance summaries and management dashboards.
Skills
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; Master’s preferred.
• 13-18 years of experience in drilling and completion engineering for wells including exposure to complex operating conditions.
• Strong technical depth in well planning, drilling design, rig operations and service execution.
• Demonstrated experience in technical assurance, standardisation and application of lessons learned across wells.
• Ability to mentor and guide the team while remaining hands-on with engineering and operational decisions.
• Thorough understanding of HSE systems, well integrity management and regulatory compliance.
• Strong judgement, problem-solving capability and stakeholder coordination skills.
