Programmer / Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in sheet metal fabrication, specifically focusing on laser cutting, punching, and bending. This role requires in-depth hands-on experience in operating, programming, and optimizing Trumpf TruMatic 7000 (or similar 5000/7000 series) machines. The candidate will work to maximize production efficiency, improve product quality, reduce scrap, and provide technical support to the production floor. Key Responsibilities • Machine Operation & Optimization: Set up, program, and operate Trumpf 7000 laser cutting and punching combination machines to produce high-precision, complex sheet metal parts. • Process Engineering: Develop, maintain, and optimize manufacturing processes, including CNC nesting, laser cutting parameters (speed, power, assist gas), punching, and bending techniques to ensure high-quality output. • Programming & Software: Utilize Trumpf programming software (TruTops Boost/TruTops Punch) to create, modify, and optimize nesting programs for maximum material utilization. • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical/software issues, and collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure high machine availability. • Quality Control: Interpret technical blueprints and CAD files to ensure parts meet precise tolerances. Use precision measuring tools to inspect first-off parts and ensure quality standards (ISO 9001). • Tooling & Setup: Select and manage appropriate cutting tools, nozzles, and bending tools for different material types and thicknesses. • Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety standards. • Continuous Improvement: Implement 5S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing principles to drive cycle time reduction and cost savings. Required Qualifications & Skills • Experience: Minimum 3–7 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, specifically with Trumpf machines (TruMatic 7000/5000). • Education: Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Mechatronics Engineering. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks preferred). • Strong knowledge of sheet metal properties (Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum). • Understanding of bend allowances, K-factors, and press brake operations. • Software: Proficiency in Trumpf TruTops software. • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to train operators, and excellent attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications • Experience with Trumpf bending machines (TruBend series).
