Staff Nurse NICU / PICU (India)

- Patient Assessment and Preparation:Evaluate patient condition, explain procedures, ease anxieties, and confirm patient identity and consent for surgery. - Operating Room Setup:Sterilize and arrange surgical instruments, prepare the OR table, and ensure all necessary equipment, medications, and supplies are available and functional. - Infection Control:Maintain a scrupulously clean and sterile setting, preventing any breaches in the aseptic technique. Intra-Operative Responsibilities - Surgical Assistance:Function as either a scrub nurse (directly handling sterile instruments) or a circulating nurse (coordinating supplies and assisting the team). - Patient Monitoring:Monitor the patient's vital signs and overall condition, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the procedure. - Instrumentation Management:Count and manage all instruments, sponges, and needles to prevent loss or injury. - Medication Administration:Administer medications and IV fluids as directed by the anesthesiologist or surgeon. Post-Operative Responsibilities - Patient Transport: Safely transfer the patient to the recovery area after the procedure. - Documentation: Accurately record all procedures, patient care, and any unusual events during the surgery. - Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and maintain all surgical equipment and instruments for future use.
