Job Description (Lead - Supplier Quality Assurance) Position Title: SQA Lead Department: Quality Reports To: Head - Quality Location: Bangalore (Frequent supplier visits across foundries, machining units) About Sevenloop Technology: Sevenloop is a component sourcing and manufacturing company, focusing on custom metal manufacturing – casting and machined parts for high end industries. We work with the partner Indian MSME manufacturing network to serve our global customers with their custom metal manufacturing requirements (castings and machined parts) across industries like infrastructure, mining, automotive, defence etc. We are looking at people to join our commercial/ Costing/ RFQ team to help us build the largest custom metal manufacturing platform out of India. Role Overview: Lead – Supplier Quality Assurance is accountable for supplier quality planning, process capability, and technical quality assurance for each and every Casting and Machined Part in NPD and Regular manufacturing. The role ensures design feasibility, GD&T compliance, statistically capable processes, and defect prevention across the supplier base, aligned with APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 expectations. Key Responsibilities: 1. Part Feasibility, Risk & Capability Planning - Lead detailed part feasibility evaluation and prepare Full Proof Quality Plan exactly as per customer requirement in NPD phases - Assess manufacturability risks related to casting process, machining strategy, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up - Define and Clearly document Inspection Methology, Inspection Report Format and List of Quality Documents for each part - Casting and Machining (GD&T, Cp/Cpk, Instruments to be accounted for) - Discuss and Finalize Inspection Methodology and Plan with supplier in a CFT. Address any gaps/ misalignment with Suppliers - Ensure alignment with APQP Phase 1 and Phase 2 deliverables. Track full documentation from suppliers for PPAP requirements 2. Design for Manufacturability (DFM) & Process Robustness - Drive DFM reviews to achieve stable, repeatable, and capable processes control at supplier location - Discuss Design changes with customer basis internal and supplier given feedback - Recommend design changes to customers (only if infeasible to produce at our end) improve Cp/Cpk, yield, and tool life - Ensure closure of DFM actions prior to tooling and PPAP with both customer and supplier 3. GD&T & Functional Characteristic Control - Own GD&T interpretation exactly as per customer drawing standard – ex: ASME Y14.5 / ISO 8062, ISO 2768 - Identify Critical-to-Quality (CTQ) characteristics for each and every drawing and prepare a control plan for consistently achieving each characteristic - Link GD&T to measurement strategy, SPC, and control plans 4. Casting & Machining Quality Governance - Govern quality for Iron, Aluminum, and Steel castings - Define non-negotiable defect acceptability for porosity, shrinkage, inclusions, cracks, and warpage - Ensure machining processes achieve defined Cp/Cpk targets 5. Inward Material Quality Requirements (Definition Only) - Define inward material quality requirements and acceptance criteria - Specify dimensional, material certification, traceability, and coating compliance requirements - Ensure requirements are embedded in supplier control plans and PPAP documentation 7. Supplier Performance Metrics & KPIs - Monitor Cp, Cpk, Ppk, PPM, FPY, RFT, and SCAR closure effectiveness - Use trend analysis to drive supplier improvement actions 8. Supplier Quality System & PPAP Governance - Ensure APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans are aligned to CTQs - Validate PPAP / ISIR submissions and capability studies - Conduct supplier audits focused on SPC discipline and error-proofing 9. Surface Treatment & Corrosion Performance - Define coating capability and performance requirements - Monitor thickness capability, adhesion, and corrosion resistance trends 10. Customer & Cross-Functional Interface - Act as technical quality interface for all customers - Support capability reviews, PPAP approvals, and audits - Ensure statistical evidence of process capability is available Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree in mechanical / metallurgical / production engineering - 8–12 years of experience in Supplier Quality, APQP, castings, and machining - Standards & Systems: IATF 16949 & ISO 9001 - NDT Requirements: ASME NDT Level 2 Required - Process Expertise Needed: 8D, 7QC, TPM, TQM, Six Sigma - Material Expertise: Relevant ISO / ASTM/ EN and IS material grades, Heat treatment Processes and coating standard
